Reasons for the unqualified measurement resistance of DC motor

Dec 31, 2021

What is the reason for the unqualified measured resistance of the DC motor? This is the related question we are going to talk about for everyone in this issue. The answer to this question is in the following explanation:

1. Winding fault: the winding has an inter-turn short-circuit fault; the winding and the casing have two or more contacts, resulting in a ground fault.

2. Winding connection: incorrect connection of group components; wheel geared motor connection wire, lead length or cross-sectional area does not meet the requirements. Check the connection rules of the winding components, correct the connection rules, and correct the incorrectly connected components.

3. Wire breakage: broken wires at the welded joints; broken wires at looped leads or bends; broken wires in the winding wires or parallel branches. Use a meter to check and gently shake the wire. The pointer of the meter will swing along with it. It is not convenient to use a test lamp or an insulation resistance meter to check the wire break.

4. Regarding the specifications of the magnet wire: the thickness of the magnet wire is uneven, one section is qualified and one section is unqualified.

5. Rewinding coil technology: the size of the DC motor coil is inconsistent; the number of turns of the coil is wrong; the tension is uneven during the wire.

Therefore, there are many reasons for the failure of the DC motor to measure the resistance. After encountering this situation, we should carefully check every part of the equipment to find the cause in order to prescribe the right medicine and solve the problem better and faster.
