Temperature rise test of brushless DC motor

Jan 20, 2022

It is normal for some parts of the brushless DC motor to temporarily generate high temperature during use, because some parts in the motor start to rotate or rub with the start of the motor, and some heat will be generated during this period. In use, if conditions permit, a temperature rise test can be performed. The specific heating test content will be introduced in detail:

1. The measurement of the temperature rise of the brushless DC motor under test is usually carried out at the same time as the bearing capacity of the motor and the measurement of the transmission efficiency. Of course, it can be carried out separately. When the motor under test meets the regulations, read its rated speed and rated input power. lower operating temperature. and keep records.

2. Measurement of ambient temperature Place a thermometer 1.5m away from the surface of the brushless DC motor to be tested. The height of the thermometer measuring point from the ground is the same as the motor axis line. The placement of the thermometer should not be affected by external radiant heat and airflow. The reading of the ambient temperature value and the reading of the operating temperature value should be carried out at the same time.

The main purpose of the heating test of the brushless DC motor is to determine whether the temperature will rise quickly and whether the temperature will be very high when the motor is running. Take measures.
